Emergency Work is happening today in the alley, located between 1735 and 1737, to address extreme flooding into homeowner yards during rainstorms. This also should lessen resident's sump pumps from running excessively during these storms. We collected 3 bids this spring for grading to be done. We were told that a drain would be necessary and that just grading would not be enough to solve this problem. We shared these bids and costs at the July 12th 2022 meeting. The board agreed to table this discussion until the fall to gather more information. Unfortunately, the same night of the meeting, there was a heavy rain storm. We received a video from a resident showing a disturbing about of flooding on their patio. At this point through email we all agreed that this was an emergency and needed to take care of the problem ASAP. We agreed to hire Hometown Landscape & Lawn Inc. for $1950 which is within our budget. Miss Utility was contacted and marked up the alley. The contractor did not provide much advance scheduling notice, but due to the nature of the issue, the work will proceed.
